The landscape protection measures embody the creation of nature reserves, such as the chook island withinthe Altmühlsee or the shallow water areas of the Großer Brombachsee. The northern monetary group of the Brombachsee rises to thespalter plum and fly nation, and within the north rises the small mountain range of the Hahnenkamm. The lakeshore is positioned about one kilometer southwest of the city center of Hechlingen am See in the Rohrach valley, which runs approximately south, between Heidenheim within the north and Polsingen inthe south.
