The Altmühlsee - a beautiful lake that invites you to swim, sail and surf. The Altmühlsee is part of a water regulation system that transfers water from the water-rich river system of the Danube catchment space below the European Fundamental Watershed to the water-poor Regnitz-Predominant area. Roth District: Most of the district, with the exception of its two southeasternmost communities (Greding and Thalmässing): Abenberg, Allersberg, Büchenbach, Georgensgmünd, Heideck, Hilpoltstein, Kammerstein, Schwanstetten, Rednitzhembach, Röttenbach, Rohr, Roth, Spalt and Wendelstein. The Hahnenkammsee, 15 km to the south, the first synthetic body of water within the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district, and the Dennenloher See, 14 km to the west, are also a part of the Franconian Lake District, though they have nothing to do with its water management position. It is located beneath the dam of the Großer Brombachsee within the Mandlesmühle, which was abandoned when the lake was constructed, part of the Pleinfeld market inside the Center Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen (Bavaria), and has the postal handle Mandlesmühle 1. The information middle is operated by the Ansbach Water Management Workplace, which operates the Brombachsee sea master's office not far away.
