The state-acknowledged resort is situated on the Großer Brombachsee and, together with Gunzenhausen, is a vital tourist resort in the Franconian Lake District and the largest town on the Brombachsee. Giant infrastructure initiatives followed in the 1970s and 1980s, resembling the development of the center college, the indoor swimming pool, the Brombachhalle and the bypass on federal freeway 2.
