The Peninsula nature reserve in the Kleiner Brombachsee is located within the metropolis on the southwestern financial organization of the Kleiner Brombachsee. Whereas the upper space of the Rothsee dam is a nature reserve, the bathing space is additional southeast near the pre- dam. The group is centrally situated in the north of the Weißenburg- Gunzenhausen district in the course of the Franconian Lake District on a mountain spur above the Kleiner Brombachsee. According to legend, the holy maid Gunthildis von Suffersheim lived in a hermitage inside the 11th century, where a chapel was in- built her honor and which was enlarged by a new constructing inside the thirteenth century. The Catholic Church of St. Nicholas, consecrated by Bishop Otto, dates back to the 12th century.
